Terms of Service
Last updated: September 11, 2026
These terms govern your use of WA File Tools (the "Site"). By using the Site you agree to them. They are written in plain language on purpose; if anything is unclear, ask us.
1. What the Site is
The Site provides free tools that process files — splitting videos, compressing PDFs and images, converting photo formats — entirely within your web browser. No file you use with these tools is uploaded to, stored on, or visible to any server we operate. This is described in more detail in the privacy policy.
2. Your files and your responsibility
Because processing happens on your own device, you keep full control of, and full responsibility for, your files. You confirm that you have the right to process any file you use with the Site, and that doing so does not infringe anyone else's rights or break any law that applies to you.
Always keep your original file. The tools produce a new, modified copy; they never alter the original, but you are responsible for saving the output and for checking that it meets your needs before you rely on it.
3. Provided as-is
The tools are provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including any warranty that they will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose. File processing is inherently lossy in some cases (compression reduces quality by design; splitting cuts at keyframes) and the results depend on your device, browser and the file itself.
4. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, WA File Tools and the people who run it are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Site — including lost or corrupted files, lost data, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential loss — even if advised of the possibility. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the Site, which is nothing.
5. Acceptable use
Use the Site for its intended purpose. You agree not to attempt to disrupt or overload it, reverse-engineer it for the purpose of copying it, scrape it in a way that degrades it for others, or use it to process content that is illegal where you are. We may restrict access to anyone who abuses the Site.
6. Advertising and third-party links
The Site is supported by advertising. Advertisements are served by third parties (such as Google AdSense) and are subject to those parties' own terms and privacy practices. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content of advertisements or of any external site the Site links to. The ffmpeg engine used by the video splitter is fetched from a third-party content delivery network on first use.
7. Intellectual property
The Site's design, text and code are owned by WA File Tools or its licensors. Files you process remain yours; we claim no rights over them. Open-source libraries used by the Site are licensed under their respective terms.
8. Changes and availability
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site at any time, and may update these terms. The "last updated" date above will change when we do. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
